GRSG Committee Profile

Jennifer Scoular

Jenny is a geologist working in the field of radar remote sensing. She did her undergraduate in geology at Imperial College London, then continued onto a PhD on the applications of Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) to identify geotechnical hazards for tunneling projects in London.

Since completing her PhD, Jenny works for SkyGeo, a remote sensing consultancy, as a Client Technical Specialist. The role involves configuring and implementing project specific remote sensing solutions for clients across multiple industries (civil engineering, mining, oil and gas). She combines her geotechnical domain knowledge with InSAR expertise to help customers answer their project questions.

One piece of advice?

Always ask questions. No matter how much of a subject ‘expert’ you become, there will always be things you don’t know or fully understand, so never be afraid to ask questions. Most people are happy to share their knowledge with you!
